Learn How to Fight Back.

BAM - Basic Applied Martial Arts

Around the world, 1 in 3 women have faced a form of assault. 1 in 4 women have faced attacks from intimate partners. Every minute, 28 girls below the age of 18 get married. As a society, we must work together to lower these statistics. In order to do so, BAM identified a key component of gender-based violence. Girls are often unable to fight back, making them vulnerable to attacks. Girls must learn to fight back.

What Do We Teach?

Hand Techniques

We teach girls how to punch, block, and use techniques that can prevent their attackers from assaulting them.

Kicking Techniques

By teaching girls how to kick, and helping them practice, we empower them to have a quick reaction to attackers and abusers.

Situational-based Responses

Our students learn how to get out of situations like chokeholds and headlocks, as well as if someone has grabbed their wrists.
